Okay, it's officially the Christmas Season! There are some awesome giveaways going on right now out there in "blog land" and one of the best I have found so far is this one at "No Big Deal". HP TouchSmart...really? Yes, really. It's true and I want it! lol
You can enter by going over and just leaving a comment. While you are there take a look around at some of the beautiful things she has made. She is one of my favorite bloggers. Beautiful dresses last year caught my attention and I have been going back since.

Thankful for Thanksgiving...
I have so much to be thankful for. I always feel closer to my grandparents this time of year. They both have been gone 18 years now, and I still miss them as much as I did then.
I am thankful for the time I spent with them. Most of my childhood I lived with them and my Mom. I sat on the kitchen counter, on my Granny's bed, and on my Papa's lap or on his tractor and listened to every word they spoke. I held onto them and remembered them.
Whether it is one of my Granny's recipes, or one of my Papa's stories, I remember them and they are priceless to me.
I will be cooking my Granny's dressing, gravy, and pecan pie this Thanksgiving, as I do every year. We will sit down and I will feel her next to me.
While I am cooking or cleaning up, I will probably sing some old church hymn, and I will feel my Papa standing next to me, I may even hear him whistling. I so loved to hear him whistle.
These things I will never forget and they cannot be bought. I am thankful for them. When Christmas comes, I will have another set of memories from my grandparents to make me smile. Traditions were not known to me when I was in the middle of the woods, bundled up, freezing, and trying to pick the perfect tree, but now they are awesome. I love them and I treasure everything they taught me!

So, in the spirit of goodwill and trying to make this world a little better place, I am going to try and get it together. Who knows what may take shape?

Saturdays are AWESOME days...
Even though I have made quite a few new things this week, I didn't get pics up, so, I will work on that.
I just love Saturdays. When I waas working outside of our home, I loved them because I could sleep in. Now I love them because Eric is home, the boys usually sleep late, and I can start thinking of Sunday, lol.
Yes, Saturdays are great.
Fridays are not bad either. Yesterday we got the news that we will have a new grandson in January. Eric's son is going to make him a Poppa! I love that and he is excited, too!We discovered when Miss Charley Brooke came along, that we were born to be grandparents! We have found our calling in life!
While we will have to wait to see our new bundle of joy, I am sure that he will be awesome! In the meantime, we will continue to spoil the "Queen" as rotten as we possibly can!
Be blessed and bless someone else today. Give a little of the joy you wish to recieve and see how much you get in return!

Miracles Abound...
Another beautiful day, another chance to make a difference.
Today I am linking to Tea Rose Home's Link Party! Awesome ideas she has on a regular basis. My blog obsession started when I followed a link to her blog.
I love making diapeer cakes and usually try to follow the theme of the baby shower, when possible. Sometimes it's not possible and I come up with my own creation.
Today's project is the latter. I made this one for a young lady at my son's job and it turned out pretty good.
I have two baby boy showers coming up for a very dear friend of mine. She is getting two new grandsons. One in September and one in January. She is blessed and I am so happy for them. We can not wait to spoil those two precious babies.
Enjoy and please check out the link party at TRH!!! Have a blessed day!

Wild, Wacky Wednesday...
Nah, not really! :) But, I am linking up to Tea Rose Home's link party today. It has become a favorite Wednesday activity for me!
Please check out her blog, she has amazing ideas and makes the most beautiful things. Not to mention, some great projects get linked every Wednesday!
This week I am busy trying to get tutus and headbands made for Miss Charley, so I am linking her diaper cake. I found the pink and black "Paris" themed ribbon and went with it. Added plenty of black and pink bows and beads and was quite pleased with the end results.
Have a wonderful and blessed Wednesday!

Blessed!
We had a wonderful weekend. My Mom had a great birthday and it was nice to be with all of my kids and grand baby.
God is good and He knows what we need and when we need it. I am so thankful that He blesses me each and everyday.
I would love for everyone to check out Tea Rose Home and read about the awesome cookbooks featuring 50+ bloggers' favorite recipes. 100% of the profits go to The Red Cross to benefit Japan's tsunami victims who are still trying desperately to rebuild their lives. Please gain a great cookbook and be blessed by blessing others! Thanks!

Thursdays Are Fun, Too...
It's Thursday and I am so excited about Miss Charley coming to visit this weekend. It will be great to have all of my children and my granddaughter together.
With all of the cleaning and getting ready for my Mom's birthday dinner, I have not had the time to make my beautiful granddaughter anything new this week. So, I am just going to show off a couple of things I made for my Mom a few weeks ago.
She will look absolutely beautiful in these at church Sunday!
Please enjoy and check out Tea Rose Home. I am linking up there! She is awesome!

Cutie Patootie Flower Pots...
So, since Hobby Lobby had these awesome terra cotta pots on sale, I just had to come up with something fun to do with them.
They are really simple and fun. I mostly used things that I already had lying around. Hot glue, trim, chalk board paint, ribbon, jute, and chalk. They turned out okay and the possibilities are endless.
These were gifts for two very special young ladies at our church. I am thinking they would make great gifts for Mother's Day, teachers, and just about anyone who loves "Cutie Patootie Flower Pots"!

Hometown Goodness...
I was thinking about how much I love our "small" town and I feel blessed to call it home. It's so nice to know someone everywhere I go and know many people for most of our lives. You just can't get that "hometown" feel in a large city.
So, Paris, France may be larger and boast high fashion and fine cuisine, but Paris, Texas has downtown shopping and Jaxx Burgers. I mean, who can beat that?

Saturday "Fun day"!
Well, not much going on here today. Got some cleaning done and rested a little.
Mr. Porter treated the family by cooking out on the grill today and it was wonderful! We can now add "cook" to the list of all of the amazing things I love about him. He also helped to clean up afterwards, and you just can't say enough good things about a man who helps clean, lol!
I am now just relaxing and trying to decide what to wear to church tomorrow. I think I just may wait and see what kind of mood tomorrow brings. Maybe it will be a bright and sunny day or maybe a classy black suit kind of day.
Until tomorrow, be blessed and be happy!
